IN THE NEWS WITH OUR ECONOMY: DEBT IS DEADLY!

Greetings,

I thank God for the opportunity to re-connect with everyone in the Web that visit this Blog with the news from a Christian perspective and read these messages. Amen! To God be the glory!

Here is an important Biblical perspective on debt for the challenging economic situation we are experiencing:

Debt is Deadly by Dr. Larry Ollison

Mark 11:24 says that in order to receive, we must first believe. As Word of Faith people, we know this is true. The principles of the Kingdom tell us that we must call the things that be not as though they are. In order to receive eternal life, we must first believe. Believing comes before receiving.

Debt is a crippling enemy of faith. God’s plan for the believer does not include debt. Debt produces bondage. What is the result of bondage? It is the exact opposite of the result of freedom. Bondage produces stress. Freedom produces peace.

In Galatians 3:13 the Word tells us that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law. The curse, as described in Deuteronomy 28, is death, sickness & disease, and poverty. Jesus is our propitiation (substitute). He died so that we wouldn’t have to. He took on sickness & disease so we wouldn’t have to. And He took on poverty so we wouldn’t have to. To walk in debt is to walk absent fro m the fullness of redemption.

In Hosea 4:6 God said His people perish for a lack of knowledge. Although this scripture is specifically referring to the Hebrew nation, the principle still applies to us. We must understand and come to the revelation knowledge that prosperity and freedom is God’s plan and not poverty and debt.

The only thing that keeps a person from receiving eternal life is not believing that Jesus died for their sins. Unbelief kept the people of Nazareth from receiving great miracles. I believe the main reason people are walking in debt is because they do not believe it is possible to be debt-free, because they believe debt is an unavoidable part of life.

Last night Loretta and I watched a nationally known minister on worldwide TV teach an excellent message. But in his message he said that everyone will always have a house payment and everyone will always have a car payment. He went on to say that although God wants us debt-free, in our society, we know that it is relatively impossible.

The truth is this: Jesus said, "If you can believe, all things are possible, to him that believes." In many churches across the nation, good Christian people die prematurely because pastors teach their flocks that healing is not for today. Many years ago, I was one of those pastors. However, today I teach healing and physical deliverance from sickness and disease. My belief system changed because of the revelation of the Word of God.

We have a responsibility in these last days to walk in total redemption. We are Full Gospel people. We believe in life, healing, and prosperity and stand against death, sickness, and debt. Life and The Blessing, death and the curse have been placed before us. Choose life.

"VBS Ideas of Significance!” - free flyer from World Missionary Press'

Greetings,

Here is information on World Missionary Press and their VBS Ideas this year. I received the flyer when I requested it on their Prayer Partner's card. I wanted to read it and share it with as many ministries and churches every way I can.

Here it is now for your prayerful consideration is the flyers message:

I believe we are all praying for God's blessings on the upcoming Vacation Bible School activities in communities all across the USA in local churches on reaching children with the good news of Jesus love and eternal salvation.

The World Missionary Press in New Paris, Indiana has an excellent "VBS Ideas of Significance!" free flyer sent upon request chuck-full of ideas on how to motivate children to share the good news with other children around the world that they also need to learn about Jesus and His love by reading Scripture booklets in their own languages they can know how to have their sins forgiven and receive the gift of eternal life.

Visit World Missionary Press link to VBS ideas at:
http://www.wmpress.org/vbs.shtml

World Missionary Press address is: P.O. Box 120, New Paris, IN 46553. Their email is: mailroom@wmpress.org and their phone is: 574-831-2111

World Missionary Press celebrates its 47th anniversary this year (2008). WMP began in the hearts of Watson and Rose Goodman while they were missionaries in South Africa. In 1951, they established Gospel Centre Work, a faith ministry, concentrating their efforts mainly on evangelizing the children and youth in neglected black areas.

At home, the Goodmans would clear off their dining room table, place a mimeograph machine on it, and run pages with Scriptures and pictures to color for the 2,000 black children they taught weekly in the five townships surrounding Germiston, South Africa.

Watson and Rose's printing progressed to a small printing press in their garage. They began printing the 48-page Scripture booklet Help From Above in the Zulu language, stapling the booklets by hand.

Watson's vision for reaching the world through Scripture booklets distributed free of charge grew in intensity. In 1961 God led them to the U.S. to establish World Missionary Press in Winona Lake, Indiana. A small building was dedicated November 11, 1961.

Watson Goodman passed away in January 2002 at the age of 82. Rose Goodman passed away in February 2006 at the age of 86.

Presently overseeing the work of World Missionary Press are President Jay Benson and Vice-President Vicky (Goodman) Benson, (oldest child of Watson and Rose).

In 1994, World Missionary Press joined hands with Every Home for Christ (EHC) by committing to print six million special 2-in-1 Scripture booklets in nine African languages for distribution to every black home in the Goodmans' adopted homeland of South Africa. For 47-plus years Scripture booklet production and free worldwide
distribution have continued through dependence on God and the efforts of staff, volunteers, and distributors, just as Watson and Rose Goodman had first envisioned.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Let's start 2008 with the right foot...

Greetings,

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Here is a good way to start 2008 with the right foot so to speak! Read on…

" Breaking the Spirit of Control" by Larry Ollison, Ph.D.

Control and manipulation are tools of the devil. Freedom and guidance are tools of the Spirit of God. Jesus said in John chapter eight that if we would abide in His Word, we would know the truth and that the truth would set us free. God is a God of freedom and the devil is the god of bondage.

I’ve heard people try to manipulate God with their prayers and it may sound strange, but there are those who try to apply the world’s methods to their communication with God.

Several years ago I was talking with a man who knew that God had instructed him specifically on something he was to do in his life. Not only did this man know in his heart, but it was also confirmed by the Holy Scriptures. However, he refused to do what he knew was right.

When I asked him why he was rebelling against God’s command, he made a very astonishing statement. He said, "I’m believing that if I hold off long enough that eventually God will see that I don’t want to do it and He will change His mind."

God does not respond to picketing, protest marches, or sit down strikes. And we cannot manipulate God or control Him by these socially accepted, politically correct methods.

Another man told me that he did not agree with one of the current theological teachings. He went on to make a very ludicrous statement. He said, "If I can get enough people to believe the way I believe, then certainly God will agree with me." Wrong! As Christians, we live in a kingdom and not in a democracy. Only what the King decides becomes law.

I knew of another gentleman who believed if he could publicly prophecy something in church, then certainly God would cause it to come to pass because God would not allow Himself to be embarrassed. God doesn’t get embarrassed. He knows the truth and you cannot control, nor can you manipulate, God.

Control and manipulation are spirits associated with the spirit of fear. Yes, in the Book of Galatians we are told that a part of the fruit of the spirit is self-control. Self-discipline is of God, but attempting to manipulate or control God or any other person by your words or by your deeds is witchcraft and is not of God.

On Christian friends and why we must forgive...

Greetings,

I have been going through this exact 'friendship challenge' with two friends that have a one-sided friendship in a self-centered kind of way and that always ask me to forgive them for ignoring my side of needs... then they go right back to the same self-centerd ways, only to after a while when I get tired of their 'my mountain is so big' or 'I am so blessed' one sided comments and I tell them to stop and realize I need equal time in a true friendship, again they recognize they had been ignoring me and ask for my forgiveness which of course I do forgive them... then the whole cycle start again... so, this article by Dr. Larry Ollison on "Unforgiveness" gives me a point of reference in my 'shaking their friendship tree' to see if a 'friendship fruit' will fall and we can have a real relationship or if I must walk away from one or both of them after so many years...

So, friends and everyone that has friends, beware and be aware of how you use your friends and their friendships and how to react to their 'friendship challenge' and forgive and stay friends or forgive and move on...

* Unforgiveness is a Negative Witness by Dr. Larry Ollison

Why is it that the devil is attacking so much in offenses and in the area of unforgiveness? In John 10:10 it says the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came to give us abundant life.

If the devil wants to kill, what does he want to kill? He wants to kill us, but actually he wants to kill the work of God, steal the work of God, and destroy the work of God in your life. He wants to get at God through the body of Jesus that is here on this earth. He wants to destroy the ministry of Jesus Christ. His goal is to get you tied up in unforgiveness and in offense so you will be weak and without joy (Nehemiah 8:10).

What do you do? You decide you are going to let the offense go. Who decides if you are going to let it go? Who decides if you are going to forgive? You do! The person who has been offended and hurt has to make the decision.

Paul said, "forgetting what lies behind I press on." God forgives and forgets and we must be like God. We have to choose to forget. Forgetting does not mean that you don’t remember. You still remember, but the surge of anger that you normally would feel when you remember isn’t there. You remember it only as an historical event. You don’t remember it with the pain.

When we start seeing people the way God sees people, we are not going to be offended and we are not going to be unforgiving toward things they do and say.

You can choose what you think about. The battle of faith takes place in the mind and the devil is the king of guilt. He’ll try to make you remember your past. Is it your past that keeps you from going forward, or is it your present attitude about your past that keeps you from going forward?

Unforgiveness will affect your sanity. Have you ever been around somebody that won’t let go of unforgiveness? The Bible says to think on certain things, which means you can control what you think. It’s a lie to say, “I can’t help what I think.”

Unforgiveness will make you open bait for the devil. You’ve got to realize that the devil is trying to pull you into a trap – everyday. The easiest trap he has is offenses and unforgiveness. Once he gets you in there, you are trapped.

You may be trying to go on with your ministry. You may be trying to witness to a person you are working with. I know of a man who has been trying to witness to a co-worker for years. I’ll be honest with you. He will never witness to him and get him saved in his current condition. Why is that? Because in his current condition he is offended and he has unforgiveness and it just pours out of him. While that unforgiveness is pouring out of him, he’s trying to witness to his co-worker. Witnessing is taking place, only it’s a negative witness instead of a positive one. The co-worker is probably thinking to himself, “If that guy is a Christian, I don’t want what he has. He’s a mess. He’s mental.” The world calls this being a hypocrite.

Second Timothy 2:25-26 talks about how we come to the truth. We hear the truth, we come to our senses and we escape the snare of the devil. The devil hopes you won’t be smart enough to forgive. The devil wants you to be stupid when it comes to forgiveness. But forgiveness is the key to being set free. Forgiveness is possible in every situation. Forgiveness is a choice. That choice is totally ours.

Rev. Dorothy M. Barry live broadcast at YouTube

Greetings to women in ministry live broadcasts to use the new internet technology to share the good news of the gospel.

Here is information on Rev.Dorothy M. Barry live broadcast at YouTube and why she is doing it as part of her ministry outreaches in Nashville, Tennessee.

Message from Rev. Dorothy M. Barry: "Reality Ministry- My first attempt on blogTV"

Greetings in the name of the LORD!

With interest I have been reading and watching the ongoing discussions with Bishop CD Miller, Apostle Stacey Woods and others on the topic "Reality Ministry for the Reality Generation" and decided to give blogTV a try. I am already on YouTube, GodTube and LiveVideo.com.

Personally I was out of my comfort zone because with "YouTube" I don't post it til I can edit and add titles etc, have to learn how to do that with blogTV. Have to figure out why it echos too. Also not used to having an instant audience as you record.

As with any other first attempts there will come a more polished presentation but if you don't start somewhere how will you know if you can do it. So don't laugh but I did get into the boat Bishop!!!

So who's next!!!!!!!

Take a look!!

2008 "The Year of the Church"

Greetings,

As Thanksgiving and Christmas times approach Christians should pause and be reflecting in the blessings the Lord had given us during 2007 and also start looking forward to His blessings for 2008…

Here is a very thoughtful devotional from Dr. Larry Ollison that all should read and prayerfully consider:

2008 "The Year of the Church" by Dr. Larry Ollison

A few weeks ago while spending time with the Lord, I had this question on my heart. "What are Your plans for me and for my ministry?" From deep within my spirit I heard these words. "This coming year will be the year of the church."

My first question was this. "What does it mean that 2008 will be the year of the church?" The church was here this year and last year. In fact, the church has been on the Earth every year since the time Jesus put His blood on the Mercy Seat. When Jesus became the first fruits into the Kingdom and became the firstborn among many brethren, the church was established. Jesus then took His position as the head of the church and all who received Him became a part of His body. The church has existed for centuries, so what does it mean "2008 is the year of the church?"

Over the last few weeks I have meditated on this and God has spoken clearly to my heart. As for me and those who attend my church and receive from this ministry, 2008 is the year for every member of the church to stand up and be the church. The time that once was future is now here. We are truly living in the last moments of the last days. We are the generation that will usher in the return of the Messiah. The waiting is over and the time is at hand for the church to stand up and operate in the power and authority that was prophesied by Jesus.

* 2008 is the Year for the Church to Stand Up and Be the Church

It is time for the church to quit being "seeker friendly" and become "Holy Spirit friendly." When the world looks at Christians, they should see the light shining in such a way that they are drawn to a loving God instead of being drawn to God’s stuff. While it is true that God wants to prosper every believer physically and financially, the gift should not receive more glory than the giver.

Jesus told us that Christians were to be fishers of men, but a BMW or a Mercedes should not be the bait on the hook. Now don’t take me wrong. There is nothing wrong with owning a BMW or a Mercedes. Personally, a silver BMW Z-4 is a beautiful car and there is nothing wrong with having one. If you see one in the Pastor’s parking spot at church, it’s okay. God doesn’t mind. However, the motivation of Jesus being pierced with nails and dying on the cross was not so you could have a new BMW and it shouldn’t be your motivation for spreading the gospel either. We should attract people to a loving God in such a way that they will love Him more than His stuff.

Many people in the church are hurting, offended, and bitter. I heard a man say last week that life had been bad to him. While it may be true that the world has treated him poorly, God is a good God and His plan is full of goodness.

It’s time for the church to get over bitterness, discouragement, depression, and fear of people. This is the year the church must take a stand and proclaim the Word to the world with strength and authority.

Psalm 119:165 says, "Great peace have they which love Thy law and nothing shall offend them." The church must quit talking about what the world has done to them and start talking about what God has done for them. This is the time, this is the year for the church to stand up and be the church.

While in Old Jerusalem, a storekeeper told me that Christians often leave tracts in his store hoping that he will find them and receive Jesus. He made an interesting statement to me. He said, "Instead of Christians leaving a tract, they should become a living tract, and then being a Christian would be attract-ive."

It’s time for Christians to quit talking about what they are in the world and be who they are to the world.

* 2008 is the Year the Church Walks in Correction

As a pastor, I have discovered that people enjoy coming to me for advice and they accept it as long as the answer is what they want to hear. We must develop the ministry of receiving the word "no." To hear quickly, and to be obedient without question makes one usable to God.

Over the years I’ve had many approach me about their call into the ministry. There are those who truly will do whatever God calls them to do, but there are also many who will only answer the call if it involves a platform, podium, microphone, and cameras. There is nothing wrong with being famous. The Bible says that Jesus’ fame spread throughout the country and multitudes came to hear him. Jesus didn’t seek fame, but used it as a tool. Likewise, fame should never be a ministry goal.

In order for the church to be the church, Christians must be obedient to every word and not just to the ones they want to receive. We must go where He tells us to go, or stay where He tells us to stay without regard to fame or fortune. The Blessing will chase you down and catch you, but The Blessing only travels on the street named Obedience.
God’s Word may be served on a table, but it’s not a smorgasbord. There are desserts, but you must also eat the vegetables.

My wife, Loretta, is devoted to prayer. Privately she spends time in prayer, but also hosts several prayer sessions each week. I recently heard someone say that they were not going to prayer because they didn’t get a lot out of prayer meetings. It reminded me of the time that a couple met me in my office to inform me that they were no longer going to work with children because no one appreciated what they were doing.

When did appreciation become the motivation for ministry? When did we start judging prayer by how much we got out of it? Much of the focus has been wrong and needs to be corrected.

We were created to worship Him. When we pray, we pray to the Father. If talking to the Father does not bring satisfaction, then an adjustment needs to be made and it’s not the Father that needs to be adjusted. 2008 is the year the church walks in correction.
2008 is the Year the Church Must Obey Without Hesitation

The church has been commanded to "go ye therefore and make disciples." Whether or not you feel appreciated while doing it, is irrelevant. It’s a command. Imagine how an army would function during a time of war if each soldier decided himself whether or not he was going to obey the commands of the General on the basis of how appreciated he felt. The war would be lost. That is one of the basic problems that has developed in the church. We must obey our commands without hesitation.

Many times a statement that sounds good, if carried to the extreme, can be harmful. A lady told me once that she couldn’t teach the children because she needed to be sitting in adult church where the pastor put the food on the table. While this is a good concept, the reality is this. If everybody is sitting at the table and nobody is in the kitchen, everyone starves. In order to eat, we must all take our turn in the kitchen.

While in the heart of God, it is true that it’s all about us, in our hearts we should have the attitude that it’s all about Him. The church must have the right perspective and have its priorities in order. Although we receive when we come to God’s house, our hearts should be the heart of a servant and we should come to give worship to God and minister to others.

Many churches are looking for revival within their own building. They have become frustrated over the years trying to obtain it because the real heart of revival is ministering to someone else. The church should overflow into the world instead of attempting to overflow back onto itself over and over. True satisfaction and accomplishment in the heart of a believer is when they see the Word flowing out of themselves and into the lives of hurting people and seeing those hurting lives becoming fruitful and abundant in all things.

* 2008 is the Year the Church Must Cleanse Itself of the World

2008 is the year for the church to stand in honesty, character, and integrity. In today’s society, I have seen a disturbing trend. People are accustomed to being tantalized, mesmerized, and sensationalized and this has been brought into the church. While I truly believe that worship services should promote excellence in music and teaching and that musicians should practice and rehearse in order to promote excellence in worship, I have noticed that some church services are such choreographed, theatrical, made-for-television performances, that there is little difference between church and the half-time show at the Super Bowl (without the fireworks).

A minister recently indicated to me that he was unable to allow the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate in his church service because there was no way that it would fit into his television programming.

It’s sad when we allow directors to eliminate the move of the Spirit from our worship services. It’s robbing God of His opportunity to speak intimately with His children. This is the year the church must cleanse itself of the world and worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

When I told a minister at a ministers’ conference that I had sold my airplane, he said, "But what about your image? Don’t you know that not having an airplane will affect the image of your ministry?" We must get over this crazy thinking and realize that ministry is not about the building of our image.

* 2008 is the Year for the Sleeping Giant to Awake

Sometimes I feel like the church has been lulled into a deep sleep. Twenty years ago there were things we would not allow in our homes that today we are using to babysit our children. But this is the year for the sleeping giant to awake.

It has been estimated that there are over 75 million evangelical Christians in America alone. If we could unite as one body in agreement with the Word of God as our guide, nothing could stop us.

While the world may wax worse and become more deceived, the church should become brighter and brighter until we shine the Gospel into all the world.

* 2008 is the Time for the Church to Be All That Jesus Prophesied it Would Be

There is so much more that God is speaking in these last moments of the last days. When my grandmother was a teenager, she saw her first automobile. During all of her youth she traveled by way of horse and wagon. Before she passed away, she saw astronauts go into outer space and men walk on the moon. From the creation of man through six thousand years, man traveled with the assistance of animals. In one generation that changed. The scriptures tell us that in the last days knowledge will increase. We are truly in the last days.

The prophetic times spoken by our Lord and Savior, Jesus, are upon us. The time of waiting is behind and the time of action is at hand. It’s time for the church to stand up and be all that Jesus prophesied the church would be.
